The announcement

Canon describes four A4 desktop models spanning multifunction and single-function devices. This note uses that announcement as context; we have not tested the equipment or compared its output with a production press.

Our studio take: identify the decision

Write the purpose on a review print: copy approval, page sequence or placement. Ask reviewers to respond to that purpose so a convenient office printout does not become an ambiguous approval record.

If the decision concerns a specific production stock, finish or colour target, agree on the appropriate sample with the production team. Keep that approval separate from a draft used to check wording.

Keep the record with the version

Add a version identifier and review date. Record what was approved and which questions remain open before preparing the final file.

These are Chromatic’s review-process observations inspired by the announcement, not equipment recommendations or claims about our printing capabilities.
